Internships and students’ placements in Bonn

Bonn is located in the north of Germany in the region of Rhine-Westphalia. The atmosphere in Bonn is a lot more relaxed than in the other cities of the Rhine-Ruhr region, the largest metropolitan area of Germany. Not too big and not too small, the city is home to approximately 300,000 inhabitants. Life in Bonn is particularly enjoyable!

You probably already know that Berlin is the capital of Germany. However, foreigners often ignore that Bonn is the second official seat of government in the country! This lovely city is also the birthplace of Ludwig van Beethoven and you can even visit the house he lived in!

Internship Fields

Internship placements are available in many different fields in Germany such as marketing and hospitality. The list of all of the fields we offer positions in can be found here.

Benefits of the Internships

The majority of our positions offer a stipend; only a small number of them are unpaid. Some positions offer other benefits such as free accommodation or meals however this is dependent on the provider of the position and all benefits will be arranged prior to the commencement of the internship.

Types of Internship

We organise curricular internships as law requires students to be enrolled in an educational institution in order to be able to do a placement. Curricular internships are as a part of your studies where the internship is worth ECTS credits, often as a part of the Erasmus plus programme. These internships usually offer a stipend of between 100 and 300 euro per month but they can occasionally be higher.

For European citizens it is really easy to do an internship in Germany. To do a curricular internship all you need is a training agreement from your university. A training agreement is a document which outlines all the details of your internship which proves that the internship is as a part of your studies. It must be signed by your university, the receiving company and by you, the intern. For non-EU citizens, your internship must be approved by the German Federal Employment Agency.
